British Open Championships
2018 British Open attracted 18 entries that completed the 5 day tournament. Shane McCosker retained his title with a strong display of Draughts. Second place went to Colin Young from Stonehaven whilst the third spot was claimed by Tom Watson from Glasgow.

The 2016 British Open held in Ryde on the Isle of Wight has concluded with Shane McCosker taking the title with 30 points. 2nd place went to John Jolliff with 21 points. Also on 21 points were Frances McNally and Frank Moran who were 3rd and 4th respectively. 5th and 6th on 20 points were Tom Kee and Colin Young. Other placings were Graham Young and Bill Dobbins each with 19 points. Billy Kelly and Anthony Rose had 18 points Sean McElkenny finished with 17 points. Three players Ken Lovell, Brian Poole and Con Boyle tied on 15 points. Keith Foubister ended with 14 points, Danny Oliphant had 9 Iain caws 7 and Richard Brandleshome ended on 5 points.
The British Open 2016 is to be held in the Town Club in Ryde on the Isle of Wight.
It has been organised by Ian caws on behalf of the English Draughts Association, and will take place form Monday 18th to Friday 22nd April.
